Counsellor-In-Training

Concept

Practical and theoretical experience pertinent to properly animate and supervise groups of children. Candidates successfully passing the course which is certified by the Association des camps du Québec will gain a useful tool for anyone aspiring to work in child-related fields.

Clientele

Young adults 16 and 17 years of age.

 

Duration

• 16 years old candidates on June 30th, 2008: 4 weeks plus a 2-week training period.
• 17 years old candidates on June 30th, 2008: 4 weeks.

 

Activities

Counsellors-in-training are paired with a specialist and a group of campers in order to develop their pedagogical skills, animation and capabilities. The counsellors-in-training will be implicated in planning special events encompassed in the campers programmes. Furthermore, all participants will also visit another camp.

 

Supervision

1 qualified Edphy supervisor for 10 participants.

 

Certification

The Association des camps du Québec issues a certificate to participants successfully completing the programme.

 

Advantages

The certification guarantees the holder a job at Edphy as soon as he/she reaches 17 years of age and is also recognized by all certified camps.
