Counsellor-In-Training

Concept

Practical and theoretical experience pertinent to properly animate and supervise groups of children. Candidates successfully passing the course which is certified by the Association des camps du Québec will gain a useful tool for anyone aspiring to work in child-related fields.

Clientele

Young men and women 16 and 17 years of age.

Duration

16 years old candidates on June 30th, 2012: 4 weeks plus a 2-week training period.
17 years old candidates on June 30th, 2012: 4 weeks.

Activities of our summer camp

Counsellors-in-training are paired with a specialist and a group of campers in order to develop their pedagogical skills, animation and capabilities. The counsellors-in-training will be implicated in planning special events encompassed in the campers programs. Furthermore, all participants will also visit another camp.

Supervision

1 qualified Edphy supervisor for 10 participants.

Graduates

The Association des camps du Québec issues a certificate to participants successfully completing the program.

new The Quebec Leisure Council issues a "Diplôme d'Aptitudes aux Fonctions d'Animateur" (DAFA)

Advantages

The certification guarantees the holder a job at Edphy as soon as he/she reaches 17 years of age and is also recognized by all certified camps.
